MAny thanks for the Netflix PH # info. I'll go there later today.

Also,it's good to see another fan of both Flynn and Duke here. Both movies are excellent. If you like Flynn in Westerns-he made I think a total of eight. Anyway, currently available-is a 4 Errol Flynn Westerns collection which includes Rocky Mountain. I picked it up about 2 months or so ago-and loved all the Westerns in it. Bogart is in at least one of them playing a Mexican.

Thanks for pointing the movie info out. I'm going to get a hold of those titles soon. I'm a firm believer in Netflix.

Heartbreak Ridge on Saturday in to Sunday morning, liked Clint Eastwood standing for no liberal guff. :D

I was about to turn in at 2:30AM when a WW1 documentary was next up. The Underground War about all the tunnels both sides made in order to dig across to the other side of the line a plant TNT to blow up. Thanks to our British Map makers they did such a good job the explorers were able to take a look at a couple of these tunnels. They found a mix bag of ammunition along with telephone wires, helmets and bottles. Were staying up to that one.

Glad to help. One thing I like about Netflix-is that I can watch a movie I haven'tseen before and could be instrumental in saving me from spending money on a DvD that I will not like.

Watched Tron and will be watching Rambo--this evening. Tomorrow-ONLY The Shadow knows :-D

Watched Rambo-and I can take it or leave it. Reason for that is because they showed too much senseless gore in it. I don't need to see a persons body disentigrated because of being hit a few dozen time by rounds from a .50 Cal. Machinegun. Had this movie not had that kind of gore in it--I would have added the movie to my collection last night. Currently Wally World (aka) Wal-Mart-has it on their shelves for $4 Bucks.

Currently I will give the latest effort in the First Blood franchise-a 7-of 10 rating with 10 being the highest.

Will be watching an old B&W classic tonight called: Air Force. I think this movie has Harry Carey Sr in it and possibly Arthur Kennedy? or maybe im thinking of Robert Walker??

Saw a document on Prince Charles Edward´s life and connection to Hitler.

In the end he was the bad guy but I just found it pretty awkward that such a small calibre bad guy gets "the whole treatment" whereas so many top holocaust nazis were not even recognized and they sailed to South America etc.

    ----

Later tonight battlefield series document on " battle for Leyte gulf".

Just saw Objective Burma with my Dad last weekend. And I have to say that in this movie, Errol Flynn played his part well because of a strong interplay with the rest of the movie's cast.
When the movie reached the scene showing the paratroopers getting ready to jump, Dad once again recited what they used to do: "stand up, hook up, etc." I guess once a person earns jump wings, no matter how old they are, it's one experience that he never will forget.
What made me laugh was one scene when the officer asked the old journalist if he's able to cross the river. The scruffy journalist replied, "I jumped out of a plane, didn't I?"

Hi Fal/ Objective Burma has always been a favorite of mine and was the first Flynn movie I got on DvD. Since then, i've added at least 15 others;-))

Speaking of: The One Who Got Away--which is an early piece for Hardy Kruger--Netflix has it in their collection and i'll FINALLY be getting to see it all the way through.

Just started watching the Star Trek Cross-overs DvD collection last night with Mirror Mirror-from the Original Trek series. I might say that Spock looked rather distinguished with a Goatee.

I'm looking forward to Friday on Turner Classic Movies. "Run Silent, Run Deep" is on followed by "Submarine Command". Looks like a Friday Night at the Movies.

Well, I did indeed watch: The Bunker, last night and it could have been better.

This movie was supposed to be a Horror flick set in WWII shortly after D-Day occurred. The location was along the Belgian border and mostly inside a badly built bunker-built by Organization Todt. This bunker also had the distinction of being built right next to and incorporating some ""Ancient tunnels"" in which ""terrible"" things happened long before Germany was Germany.

For a "Horror movie" it had relatively little gore in it. This movie is a low-budget film-which clearly shows sometimes-but for a low budget film, they didn't do too terribly.

Something I did like about the film is that they included a Volksturmann and a "draftee" youth-and their mixture of uniform items such as an overseas cap with kocarde and also Waffen SS insignia-to the old Volks/ wearing a WWI greatcoat with Inf Rgmt 13-shoulderboards-and a "pork pie" cap with two kocardes on it.

I also liked their usage of two Sturmgewehr Assault rifles as well as an MG-34 and one or two MP-40s.

A rating and opinion.Because it was a low-budget-indy-film and the cast and crew gave it their best--I will give it an 8 out of 10-w/ 10 being the highest--because of their efforts and they employed what they could as per their budget. However, this film will not make it into my collection. The film is watchable and will keep ones interest through a good portion of it but for a movie that's supposed to also be scary--well, it ain't. ;-))

    Hey G o W

ya I think it is probually the best series/film to come out so far on Iraq - in terms of being very realistic, funny sometimes (dark humer in places) ...... it has a very good script, believable story line and the characters are likeable - (again i supose because it's based on fact) Also there are some very good action sequences.

some of the anti-war stuff is like BoB - incompetent leadership, lack of proper supplys etc ...... but there is a few cases of 'civilian deaths', stress etc too.

if you get the chance, you should give it a try ;)
