    Hi guys, I was searching around for some stats on the Beretta m34 pistol and these are the sites I visited;

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beretta_M1934

    http://www.tarrif.net/cgi/production/all_inf_weapons_adv.php?op=getinf_weapons&inf_weaponsX=52

    http://www.comandosupremo.com/beretta34.html

    http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg/it/beretta-1934-e.html

    http://www.worldwar2.ro/arme/?language=ro&article=274

    http://www.militaryfactory.com/smallarms/detail.asp?smallarms_id=758

Now if you look at the stats concerning the overall Length, Barrel Length and Weight, you find that not all are the same.
I wonder if different nations give different stats or if someone has made a big mistake and posted it up only for others to think it is correct and reprint the same data later down the line.

Yan, When I was a teen, am 73 now, I worked for Walter Craig, Inc. A large firearms importer located in Selma, Al, US. I cleaned and checked hundreds and hundreds of M 34's for Mr. Craig . All were WW2 surplus and all identical except for condition. Dumb me sold the one I was given. Great feeling gun for my small hands.

Weights can vary because some people will weigh with magazine and some without and you'll generally get a slight weight variance with various grips since they came of wood, rubber, cellulite, etc.

Barrel length is also in the eye of the beholder. In the US, an 'official" measurement is from the front of the chamber (just the rifled part of the barrel), while others measure from the rear of the chamber, and you might even get a measurement of the entire barrel to include the feed ramp, etc.

As for overall length, the only thing I can see that would affect the measurement is cocked or uncocked - it's going to be slightly longer with the hammer back.

Gaines; nice story and I don’t blame you for regretting the sale of the piece.

KB; you are correct with your statements, I was trying to find the correct one used by the Italian Army during WW2.

The main stumbling block I find with Italian small arms and support weapons, is the lack of data concerning the numbers or totals.

    Pistola Modello 34: 1.080,000
    Moschetto Automatico Modello 38: ?
Carcano Modello 91: 3,000,000 (all variants)
    Mitragliatice Modello 30: ?
    Mitragliatice Modello 14/35: ?
    Mitragliatice Modello 37: ?
    Mitragliatice Modello 14: ?
    Mortaio d’assalto Modello 35: ?
    Mortaio da 81/14 Modello 35: ?

I have tried English sites and Italian sites, and no one seems to know.
