This topic to some extent relates to what we can see in "Re-Enactment Pics'", but here I'd suggest putting info on some interesting vehicles (tanks, APCs, anything) brought back to life that you know of. Like this baby for example, the pride of Polish military lovers: It gained the name "Lufcik" (diminutive of "Luft", as the vehicle belonged to the LUFTwaffe (its belonging to the German Ar Force is confirmed by its license plate: WL 323863); "lufcik" means a small window for letting in fresh air) and in fact it is not known what the official designation was. Just the chassis was identified - it comes from an artillery tractor (is that what it should be called in English? Tractor? Carrier?) Sd.Kfz. 8. That's what it looked like after being taken out of the Pilica river in 1999: It's a very mysterious vehicle. Just three photos of it are known (1, 2, 3). The last two show the prototype during tests (it was designed to pull the famous 88mm AA/AT guns) and most probably the prototype phase was the end of the vehicle's development. It currently uses o post-Soviet Kraz engine instead of the original Maybach, but the gearbox and most of the riding parts are original - including the unique full rubber tyres. Lufcik can be found in the Heritage Park of Pilica River. More photos and technical info here. If you have info on any other rare/unique/interesting reconstructed WWII wehicles, please share.
Ed's Ferret I contribute to the 'Military Vehicle Trust' which is an organisation whose members rebuild and show vehicles. Anyway here's Ed's Ferret in all it's glory!
