Having done some research in my local area on WW2 buildings but cant seem to find much info on what was called a BROMIDE transmitter. it was an electronic counter measure for the GERMAN targeting system called X-Gerat. Nobody local remembers it and id like to know what it would have looked like. Can anyone offer any info.....
Bromide was a transmitter manufactured by modifying a GL Mk I or II radar transmitter to operate on 70MHz. It looks like a small wooden cab that can rotate mounted on a four wheel trailer. The antenna is a simple set of dipoles mounted horizontally across the top of the cab on a raised metal and wood frame.
wouldnt happen to have any pics of it would you my friend. so it wasnt a fixed building then. Thats great info, but strange it is listed on the buildings database, along with AA BATTERYS Thanks for sheeding some light on the matter
is it possible to scan it into your PC and email it to me, or just tell me which book so i could try to obtain a copy?
