No problem this man is a true hero for the Zwolle inhabitants and certainly deserves a place in this section

His son Jocelyn is a member of the Forum although he only posted a few times. One of those was his father's story:

    See http://www.ww2f.com/roll-honor-memories-wwii-obituaries/21153-private-leo-major-quebec.html

I heard of private major several years previously, when he was interviewed on the History Channel.

Some other sites re his exploits:

To Jocelyn and the family of Mr. Major,

My deepest sympathies at the loss of your father - a man who made a significant difference in the lives of others by his bravery and actions.

Cheers for confirming this Macrusk. I hadn't noticed Mr Major was the relative of one of our members. This section is therefore also dedicated to her and her relatives.

I read that Jocelyn is working with Quebec film maker on a script for a motion picture on the subject of his father. The report dated back to 2011 and no film has yet materialized. Hopefully something will come of it. There is also a documentary in the works. Again, I hope this will come about soon and bring this fine Canadian's contributions to light.
