"The cruiser USS St. Louis after the Battle of Kolombangara, with torpedo damage to her bow; July 1943. She went to Mare Island California for extensive repairs returning to active combat by mid Nov 1943. Damaged by a Kamikaze off Leyte in 1944, she survived the war, and was given to Brazil in 1951."

She was also at Pearl Harbor when the Nagumo Kido Butai came calling. She earned a few battle stars.

"The nose of this B-25 is fitted with eight .50 caliber machine guns. Some B-25’s also had 75 mm cannons for even more firepower. The Americans learned that concentrated firepower in the nose was more deadly against shipping than conventional bombs or depth charges. Not sure if this is a model G or H."

And don't forget to buy a t-shirt to support the preservation mission. I have "a few" of such items.

The casing extending at deck level all the way to the stern indicates that this is one of the later S class boats, with an external torpedo tube aft.

Funny thing - for the movie We Dive At Dawn, the RN made several different S class subs available, with the amusing result that the stern tube appears and disappears in successive shots!

My brother was stationed at Grissom when he met the woman that proposed to him. Every other tour was there after that. We lived about sixty miles from there.
