    Going dove hunting tomorrow or Sunday morning. With that strong cold front moving in, it should draw birds from up narf. If it's that cold up your way it should bring in a lot !! Cards will play just be delayed a hour or so.

    Oh for Joy !! :rolleyes: Just heard on the News that we're under a Winter Weather Advisory beginning tomorrow afternoon. Cold Canadian air pushing across the border with the expectation of one to three inches of Snow in the afternoon. Another 1-3 overnight Thursday? Possible icing conditions.
    HEY CANADA ! I ain't ready yet. Just got by breathing back after the smoke filtering in from North West Minnesota wildfires. Although, the snow and rain will clean the air quite nicely, Thank You I guess.

    i would a put this in the regular weather thread but couldna' find it.

    It would have been but the fires were 60-80 miles away and all we got was the acrid odor of burnt Pine resin. Looked like a fog bank over the Lake this morning and no one could figure where the fire was. Fires are all out now and the air had cleared up by early afternoon. Now if my decoys don't freeze I might get a chance at a few Geese or Mallards. Watched a pair of Grebes paddling around but they're a little expensive if you know what I mean ;)

    ps; At least I saw the Grumman Albatross, that flew over a few weeks, ago on the News dropping water!

    Well to be totally truthful it should be at least another 3 or 4 weeks before that happens. :D
    edit a few minutes later:

    Maybe not. I just saw this on the NOAA weather webpage;
    An early-season winter storm that brought record snows to Montana today will strengthen and move into the Upper Midwest tonight and tomorrow. Snow is forecast to move into northwest Minnesota overnight. Strong winds are also forecast with this system with blowing and drifting snow possible. Maximum total accumulations approaching 12 inches are forecast by Thursday night. :snowstorm::panic:

    We're definitely into the Silly Season transitioning into Winter. Cold, freezing rain this morning, started the day around 30 degrees and it's 43 now. Thunderstorm as I sit here typing and temperature is slated to slowly drop to 26 degrees by 4pm tomorrow with the rain turning to snow.

    I think they've already passed through. We must be too far North to get the 'bunches' and too many lakes, marshes and Rivers for them to rest. They just scatter out. We have had a few pairs of Swans hanging around and just a few Geese but the other 'birds' have bugged out. We got cold but it didn't last (back up to the low 40's) and the same is coming; cold next couple days then back up into the 30's.

    Looked at the migration reports and sounds like they're still holding up north. Areas in northern ND, MN, MI seeing lotsa' birds.

    Fished a Mark Twain Lake last week and saw thousands of birds..... All Locals

    According to the folks up here, we get a few stragglers as they pass by heading for the rice areas just South of here. One guy said he sees more on the rivers than the lakes. Guess it's once again Location, Location, Location. But the majority are to the West near the N. Dakota/Minn. border. I've never seen (Up Here) rafts of Ducks or Geese fly over in the numbers I did in Illinois. 10's & 20's here versus 100's & 1,000's there. It has been mild overall too. Last year we had colder temps sooner and this year it has been up and down.
    I'll keep my eye on the Sky and let ya' know if I see any Big Groups head South.
