Fascinating story. But I wonder, is it a story or is it a fairy tale? I have never heard of this. I do know that Eichmann went to Palestine to meet with the Grand Mufti, but I've never heard of this.

Also, no reference whatsoever to a source. Not even mention of scholarly publishing.

The source is Rueters, whatever that's worth.

This story would go along with a story I saw on the History Channel about the influence of Hitler on the middle-east and eventually upon Sadam Hussein himself. The gist of the show was that the fascist and anti-semetic rhetoric of Hitler was very appealing to the Arabic nationals in the European controlled Arab states. They used Hitler's rhetoric and organization as a model. They even studied Mein Kampf.

As you say Fascinating story jp. To insure its details are correct you would have to do a spot of research.

If this is true, either it means the SS were doing timely planning, or they were counting their chicks before they were hatched ;)

I do think the Germans had the plans and names after operation Seelöwe for Britain so definitely they were a little early in several things.
