    A couple of weekends ago I went to Elvington Air Museum with most of my family to celebrate my Grandparent's 60th Wedding Anniversary. It was most appropriate as Elvington houses the only complete HP Halifax around (Free French Halifax Squadrons flew from there during the war), and my Grandma spent her time in WW2 driving crews to Halifaxes before take-off.

    So here are the pictures:

    Firstly, the beast itself

    And finally with a gaggle of my relatives

    In the same hanger:

    There are more aircraft outside:

    2 Tornados

    2 Buccaneers

    Plus a host of 'disposable stores'

    Left -> Right: 500lb / 1,000lb / Nuke!
    [IMG]

    Left -> Right: Nuke / ? / Sea Eagle
    [IMG]

    Tallboy

    Plus a variety of builds, and a few bits & bobs, including a Canberra cockpit that you can climb around in. Plus these:

    It also boasts an 'air gunners' hall with many different WW2 gun turrets, and a Barnes Wallice exhibition. Marvellous...

    Oh, and this rather scary genuine WW2 order is posted up outside the toilets...

    Richard, how is it that you can post all those pictures in one string but I can only post three ata time?
    Something to do with rank?

    How do you post them, Merlin -- use the IMG button then paste the URL then click the *IMG button to finish. Do this as often as you like

    Ricky also has the luxury of webspace to upload his pictures into. That way he can use the url of each image to post as many as he wants.

    Re: post subject

    Like Cholbert said, I have the images hosted on a webspace, so I am just linking them. If I was uploading them directly from my hard drive (adding an attachment to my post) I could only do 3 per post.

    Ossian -

    yes, 'sitting' :roll:
