Welcome to my AAR! Due to the image-issues I have been experiencing, and the advances with technology, instead of doing a write-up with pictures, I am experimenting with Video-Capture. Here is the first video update for my Japanese AAR! Please feel free to comment on it in this thread! I will update this post with each installment.
I was wondering if that shadow I kept seeing out of the corner of my eye sometimes was der PanzerPenguin. I'm pretty sure now that it was.
So...to put it simply, the AI is a bit broken when it comes to Japan/China. My current playthrough has become all sorts of messed up so I have been doing some general reading on the forums and the general consensus is that China is very OP but at the same time very stupid - they'll send 99% of their divisions to the front with Manchuria but are incapable of defending/countering Naval Invasions. The ensuing peace treaty etc raises the Global Tension basically to 100% so Japan ends up having to fight wars it isn't prepared for. Basically, I am thinking of not bothering to continue to the Japan Playthrough and instead play as a different country. So - a new vote (in no order): 1. Russia 2. USA 3. UK 4. Germany 5. Italy 6. France 7. Write-it-In I may just end up picking a country by random as I may start playing in a few hours and the last 'vote' didn't exactly have much input.
Can do. For fun, I've been playing as Italy. Furthest and most in depth I have played the game so far. .Japan DOW'd USA in 1939. France fell and most of the fighting is in Africa now (Allies are losing quite badly) but the German AI decided to move all of its troops out of France. ALL OF THEM. So some Americans landed in France and made it to Switzerland before I noticed. Luckily my main army was still in Italy so I was able to push them back, but there are now Italian troops Garrisoning the coast of France. My elite Alpina Divisions are now in Spain fighting a combined British/French landing there as the AI neglected to defend the North coast of Spain...seems all the troops are in Africa for some reason.
The Italy video was cool, the delay in starting the game 1939 vs 1936 wasnt a problem, as it was good to get right into the action. Looking forward to seeing the USA do their thing.
I'll post a screenshot (or attempt to with my luck lately!) of the current situation with Italy once I get home from work etc.
