I'm not sure I've ever seen the word "xollagus".

Erich inexplicably left a while back I think, hasn't been active in two or three years or so. Last I heard he was posting over at hostomil.com, but I haven't clicker there in years myself.

Is he the guy who was friends/ had contacts with a Luftwaffe pilot; lived in Washington State / Pacific Northwest and bicycled?

Isn't that the word for someone performing a unnatural act with a Octopus? :)

I'm not sure where he resided, but he was very deep into the Luftwaffe and had contact with a few pilots as I recall. He was an avid cyclist also, so we are indeed thinking of the same Erich. He was a mod here for several years and even has his own smiley back when Peppy was going his thing: :erich: Erich was a strong member and a good guy too.

I know he was battling serious health issues, so hopefully he won that battle, (and is continuing to win it).

I've have also wondered what happened to Erich?

Carl Evans is another one who slipped off the radar. I used to keep in touch with Carl via snail mail (Carl wasn't one for technology :)) but my last Christmas card to him a few years ago went unanswered.

I don't know much about Erich, although I enjoyed his posts.
Carl, despite his impressive postings, was banned here (he had great differences with Otto and Jeff). He moved to posting at histomil.com and was ultimately banned there as well. We spoke on the phone a few times but I also lost track of him.

It's certainly the same gentleman. Hopefully he's doing well.

Carl Evans's profile wasn't banned, I presume he opted to focus on other things as did Erich over at histomil.com.

That's a great site. Glad to hear he's active there, he must be in good stead if that's the case.

Longevity on a forum can be fickle. There aren't a whole lot of people around anymore from when I first signed up. Peoples interests change, life/lifestyle changes, etc and its easy to fall out of touch. I know I've gone on hiatus from time to time but always seem to make my way back here.

Yeah. I thought I remember Unca Walt posting here and went to look for some old posts of his and couldn't find anything. Not sure if it was here or another forum interesting character he was though.

Unca Walt had a refreshing view of life; worth some fun novels as well.

So I am remembering correctly that he was on this forum. For some reason I can't find any of his posts at this point. Would help if I remembered just what his handle was.

I don't know if he was here; I'm pretty new to the site. I remember him from 1JMA.

Ok that make sense. That's more likely where I remember him from as well and explains why I can't find his posts here.
