    I agree it would be well worth the visit. Fantasy of Flight is a great museum with numerous displays. Hate to see it close.

    I had never heard of it. I would have made a major effort to see if I had.

    Kermit Weeks previously had the Weeks Air Museum near Homestead Fl. The hanger was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew but most of the aircraft were flown out ahead of the storm. He rebuilt at the current site near Lakeland. Among the current aircraft is the only flying B-26.

    I have relatives not too far from Lakeland.....hmmmmmmm......got me to thinking that I can kill two birds with one stone.

    A couple of gentle nudges to help you with your idea:

    B-24J tucked away in the restoration hanger with a P-40 and P-51. Behind the B-24 is a wall full of new-in-the-crate Allison V-12's (well almost 70 years old - new).
