Martin--just make sure you duck into some cloud cover if you see a fighter with a Black Tulip painted on its nose and a red heart on the side of the fusilage.  :D

Steve, in that case--if your going to Afganistan--you can go on a months leave on the Frainch Riviera. [IMG]

You can have the Frainch and their riviera. I should be in Iraq or Afghanistan by May. :(

Id rather take leave in Laboe of Wilhelmshaven--both are excellent places to spend time at.

Hope your orders for Afganistan get cancelled--so you can go on to Germany.

Not to rub anything in but, Kaiserslautern is very nice. One of the U 181 vets im friends with lives near there. Mayby and hopefully--you will still get transferred to Deutschland. I found Germany especially nice and refreshing this time of the year.

No problem [IMG] I wonder though, if the military will allow you to wear the Silver close combat spange on your tunic in Germany. [IMG]

Well, I certainly did not vote for the Pacific nor the Air war because I am not interested, because I don't know much about it... :( But I have learnt and will learn more with guys like you! ;)

I think who has chosen the Eastern front too?

Well, at least we don't have many ignorants who still think that WWII was ONLY D-day...

I chose war in western Europe and war in Russia. The ground war interests me more than air and sea war. The russian campaign attract because of the great battles and ideological theme. The western campaign was in my backyard so that's of interest also. My grandfahter fought against the germans in 1940. He even got wounded and I have the piece of grenade that took out of his neck and the commemmorative medal for the fighting.
