Hey guys, I have been wondering for sometime knows about if any types of Sherman Firefly tanks were used by the British during the Korean War

I ask this as I saw it was listed as being involved in Korea via the Korean War Weapons article on Wiki, as well as being listed on Military Factory.com too.

Also on Mytopdozen.com the Firefly shows up as #9 on most popular web searches for Korean War equipment, strange...

In addition how long where British Fireflys in service for postwar? Wiki lacks here, same for the Universal Carrier

    Thanks

I seriously doubt it. I couldn't find any information about this. If Wikipedia includes a citation for it, post it. I have a feeling it'll be a link to some unprofessional website with no sources provided.

As belasar said, they had their own domestically-produced tanks by then that were superior.

You are correct they where in Korea, but other tanks where still being used like the Cromwell, Achilles, Sherman Easy Eight etc

I have heard rumors of Comets being used, dunno if its true though

The only reference was this Rottman, Gordon L. Korean War Order of Battle. Westport, CT: Praeger Publishing, 2002.

No cites though.. Wonder why it was not brought up on the talk page
