i started this thread so everyone can give a review of an FOV piece. it can be 1:72,1:32, anything forces of valor. i'll start by reviewing the forces of valor 1:32 scale M3A1 halftrack. i'll start off by reviewing the accsessories,it comes with 1 50 cal. machine gun,2 smaller machine guns, one small crate with bottles in it,4 small pouches, and 3 larger rolled up tarps,2 rolled up blankets, one machine gunner,1 fence, and 1 of those concrete roadblock things.the acseesories add much more realism. i give them a 3/5. next i will talk about the vehicle itself.it is quite nice, the paint apps are great, the wheels and tracks roll, and the doors open.what i also like about is that it is mostly diecast, and that the details are great.there aren't many cons except that there is no driver figure other than that i give it a 3 & a half /5
heres the pic sorry i didn't take my own pictures. i don't know how to upload a picture from a camera.
FOV products are very nice. It good compete against other manufacturers like Dragon, Corgi and Franklin Mint. Apart from products produced from die cast metal, there are a few wooden models out there that are quite as good. They may not be able to capture the interior but the external features are just as good if done by a master craftsman. A good example are those posted on Mahogany Desktop Models. Check it out. Tell me what you think.
next i will be reviewing the forces of valor 1:32 scale 36th infantry regiment. these figures are pretty decent. in my pack i got:kneeling, firing rocket launcher;wounded on floor shooting;standing, shooting M16;standing firing pistol.* now on to the accsesories.as usual, this pack comes with many accsesories including:china cabinet;tiny wall section(white);drum barrels;and a cart. paintjobs.the paint jobs are pretty decent, accept for the faces.as usual, the faces don't have much detail, but i can let it go. *the below picture does not include the figure with the rocket launcher (sorry 'bout that)
OOH! I love these! I got a 1:32 King Tiger, 1:72 British SAS, a 1:32 British North African Infantry Unit, (can't remember which one) and the 1:32 German Normandy Unit (352nd? or 716th?) And I have a 1:32 M1A2 Abrams, 1:32 LAV-25, 1:32 Humvee, 1:72 M1A2 Abrams (redundant I know), 1:32 M109 TOW Missile Launcher, 1:32 AH-64 Apache, and one of the American Desert Storm infantry units. Would love to share pics, but seems like a long process to get images onto the forums.
Oh sure. Long as someone takes me through the process. can I upload straight from my computer? If not, I might just find the model I have on the website and post it, though that would be lame indeed. And I forgot 1:72 M4 Sherman (Normandy) 1:72 Churchill (Hobart's Funny)
WOW!its been a while since i've updated this thread(mainly 'cause i havn't gotten any FOV lately LOL!)well this review is going to be on the action series FOV stug.lets get started with the pros, shall we? PROS: pretty good detail all around.some of you collectors might not agree with me on this but i like the fact that some parts are rubberish and not metal or plastic(dosen't break as easily).it also comes with a machine gunner, afew tools and armor plates(oops almost forgot about the spare wheels). CONS:bad things about this model are sloppy paint apps on the gunner(i've come to expect it),and not much accesories(well its action grade, simple as that).however, adding on a few of your spare ammo cans and ammo boxes makes it look awesome. CLOSING: overrall i'd recommend,as long as its the right price(picked mine up for $30+tax)and if your a modder, all the better!
