A very motivational note, nice post kerem! I suspect Major General Mattis was inspired by Ike's "Great Crusade" missive prior to D-Day.

i remember that message from "Medal of Honor: Allied Assault".it gave me courage to assult on the atlantic wall, but holy smoke! when i witnessed the MG 42 and the artillery fire i was broken and scared , even it was only a video game. That's why i respect the bravery of those who fought in such a war. I cant even imagine how i would feel in such condition.

Certainly sounds like it. On another note, I have just been watching the DVD release of the famous old BBC documentary "The World at War", and yesterday saw the episode on D-Day.

One American veteran mentioned the stirring words and orders of the day, stating that "And as we were all soldiers, we obviously thought it all was a complete load of horse*****!" or similar words to that effect.

So much for writing inspirational pieces I suppose... :D
