I just recently found out that my great uncle was a veteran from world war 2, and he fought in the battle for iwo jima. As of right now, all i know is that he was either from the 3rd, 4th, or 5th marine divisions, and i am hoping to try and narrow down my search so i know what parts of the island he may have been on, but i don't know where i should start for that. I have started doing a little research on my own, but to now avail. Any help that could be offered would be very greatful.
