I was encouraged to introduce myself, so here I am. I've been interested in world war 2 for as long as I can remember and have read more books and articles on the subject than I care to remember. I have a rather wide field of interest ranging from the political arena down to the tactical, close combat stuff on every front, in the air or on the sea. I have previously been involved in rather detailed discussions on various units, equipment and the whole "who did what when"-type debates on other forums, and they quite frankly drove me away from the hobby for a while. I found out that the effort required and the animosity created by these discussion simply weren't worth it for me. Now I have returned to the subject after a few years absence and I will try to focus my efforts on a more theoretical, and perhaps even philosophical level and devote myself to various theorems in order to view the second world war in a slightly different light than before. This looks like the perfect place for me right now.
Welcome, Crumbs. You will find the Forum a great place with good people. As a note of caution, based on your previous negative experience you may find some of the What-If threads are best avoided!
The problem with What if threads is even though I detest them, I still get drawn to them. But welcome anyway.
