On my dad's discharge are some things I'd like you to comment on and clarify:
    30. Military Occupational Specialty and No.
    Heavy Weapons NCO 812
    31. Military Qualification and date.
Combat Infantryman Badge, Rifle 03 MM
    32. Battles and Campaigns.
New Guine GO 40 WD 45
    Papuan GO 33 WD 45
Under decorations and citations there is a list that is self explanatory and then the this: AR 600-68 What is that?

Also departed to Pacific Theatre 4/22/42 and departed for US 3/25/44. Can you identify which ships? 186th Infantry.

    Thanks for your help!

    I found some information.

The GO stands for General Order and WD 45 is War Department 1945. So GO 40 WD 45 means General Order #40 issued by War Department 1945.

I still haven't found the meaning of the GO #'s, but I'm still searching. Hope it helps, I was searching for some of the same info.
