    1. Your Name: My name is Charles , Id like to just be called CJ
    2. Age: Im 14 years old and I probably know more about World War 2 than anyone else in my school lol..I started getting interested in WW2 when i was watching War Movies when I was Younger , then I got into reading books.
    3. Origins: I am orginally from Canada.
    4. Specifics: I like to read alot about World War 2 , I enjoy reading about E Company 506th PIR , 101st Division "Screaming Eagles"...I feel so close to the vets because I know what they have gone through and what they have done..Everytime I hear about a WW2 vet (or any War veteran for that matter) dying it makes me sad...I hear 1600 WW2 vets pass away everyday...The "Greatest Generation" is dissapearing fast and its a shame...I hope I can meet more Veterans and hear the stories they have to say and the things they went through.
    5. Hobbies: I love reading books by Stephen Ambrose (Band of Brothers, Citizen Soldiers , D-Day , Etc)..Im currently reading "Beyond Band of Brothers by Major Richard D. Winters (My WW2 Hero).
    6. Other: I basicly only learn about WW2 but I would like to learn more about the Korean/Forgotten War..I know the basics but I want to learn about it In-Depth.
    7. Miscellaneous: I wish kids would be able to learn about WW2 in school , Im a freshman in high school and I havent learned one thing about WW2 in class , I educate myself on it. I wish more of today's generation could know what the veterans did for us and what they gave up.

Thanks for reading , im hoping to being more involved in these forums , as I have A LOT more to learn.

    :D

Welcome glad to hear your likeness of Stephen Ambrose. out of the 101st i liked Buck Compton myself, but Winters sure did an amazing job saving a lot of lives. Hope you enjoy your stay here and stay :)

Charles -- Welcome to this fine place! You will fit in quite well and you will learn much. I agree that our schools should do a better job of teaching 20th century history, in general. I graduated from high school 25 years ago and I never once had any exposure to ANY 20th century history while I was in school, except for what I taught myself.

You have the right attitude and you know what you want to learn. It is wonderful that you are taking the time to actually learn it!

    Cheers!

It's a distinctive nickname to honour our favourite members. It means bandit. Those we don't like we call trolls.
