I dont have much time to list a bunch of stuff but, if you want to know a few who played "Dolfie" in a few good movies-try these on for size. The Winds of War and War and Remembrance mini-series. Hitler-with Richard Basehart as Dolfie. The Last Ten Days? There are others but I just dont have time to list.
Robert Carlyle in Hitler: The Rise of Evil. He's better known for The Full Monty, which gave me visions of naked dancing Nazis and strategically placed swastikas.....
I hadnt seen the one you list but will actvelty look for a copy. When I have more time, ill try to remember to list more titles.
Without doubt the best "parody" of 'dolf was done by Charlie Chaplin, followed closely by Moe Howard.
Heh heh, I had forgotten about those. Both did do a fantastic job of it. Diud you know that both were on Dolfies hit list?
I'm not surprised they would be "not his favorite" actors after he was lampooned. I also always thought Curly made a great "Mussolini" as well in that skecth. Didn't You Natz Spy come out before Chaplin's The Great Dictator? I wonder if Adolf had much time for watching comedies after 1940 really, I know he was a great fan of American movies, like Gone With the Wind and ran it over and over.
