Good morning I am working up new units for the "Old Avalonhill Panzerblitz" and have been researching tank types on the Eastern Front. I haven't been able to identify how the Italian units were equiped. The question is whether there were M 11-39's and M 13-40's facing T-34's and Kv-1's (say at Stalingrad)? Captain
Hello. The Italian send only small tanks units on the eastern Front. One "Gruppo Squadroni Carri L.33 of the 3° Division Celere(1941),in 1942 with the 8°Armata one Battalion of "Bersalieri Corrazato" with L 6 tanks and some Semovente da 47/32. Some captured T34/76 were also used. Patrice.
Interesting, I wonder why they didnt use any of their medium tank units? Is it because those tanks were needed in the Med and North Africa? Or is it because they couldnt stand up to the Russian Tanks? Id imagine they could have at least been of use against Infantry.
TD and E. Rommel, are you identical twins or something ? Answering like this really doesn´t contribute much.
anti tank tactics would involve 2 russian troopers sneaking up on the tank and kicking the cr@p out of it with big boots and/or sticks or rocking it violently till the crew got sick and bailed and/or bits fall off immobilising it. FNG
Can you imagine: little and puny L-3 against mighty KV . Result would probaly something on this lines 1- KV doesn't see L-3 2- as result of 1. KV drives over L-3 3- bump resulting to 2. is felt by the crew and commander asks the driver: '' What the was that?''. Driver answers: '' I don't know. But it was probably just a little pothole on the road.''
