    Just found a reasonably good list and illustrations of the Japanese Army insignia and uniforms. Don’t be put off by the abbreviation of Japanese to "Jap", it was common at the time.

    I don't mean it as an insult or anything, neither did the 1945 Popular Science to my knowledge.
