Japanese Imperial "meatball" flag value??

Price likely depends on where the flag was retrieved from and perhaps even what the writing on the flag says. I think the forum has a small handful of users that can read Japanese so assuming they stop by you might be able to find out what it means.

Are the soldiers in the pictures holding the same flag? It's hard to see if there is writing on the flag in the pictures, it looks like there could be something written on the middle picture but nothing on the side ones?
