Creamer, 91 AUG. 3, 1917-JAN. 24, 2009 SUMMIT POINT, W.Va. - Julia Shirley Creamer, 91, of Locust Grove Farm, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va. Born Aug. 3, 1917, at Locust Grove Farm, Summit Point, she was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Julia Grantham Shirley. Her husband, John Philip Creamer Jr., died Nov. 7, 1986. She was a graduate of Stuart Hall, Staunton, Va., and St. Hilda's Hall of Ranson. She served as a Red Cross representative at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center during World War II and until 1958. She was a member of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, Summit Point, where she had been organist, treasurer and senior warden. She also had been a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Middleway, W.Va. She was a member of Shenandoah Garden Club, one of the organizers and first president of Shenandoah-Potomac Garden Council, an emeritus officer of Jefferson County Historical Society and a volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va. She is survived by one daughter, Julie C. Blickenstaff of Summit Point; one son, John P. Creamer III of Summit Point; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, Summit Point. The Revs. John Alfriend and Kevin Farmer will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Episcopal Church Cemetery, Charles Town, W.Va. Visitation will be today at Locust Grove Farm, Summit Point, after 3 p.m. and Tuesday after 1 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 1924 Shirley Road, Summit Point, WV 25446; or to Jefferson County Chapter, American Red Cross, 1948 Wiltshire Road, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
