I have been here for a long time but is there a change? I start getting loads of alerts and practically I must make some of these people "ignored" because I need not hear if someone wrote on my thread or liked it or the kind. Quote I understand but making a like an alert or writing without making it a quote part I hate when the alert section is full of one persons postings and then I hear I have made alert writings to him when commenting without quote was all I wanted. Or 'like' also an alert? Is it an alert? Not as I think. Or do I understand the alert term wrong? However I want my alert section cleaner and to do so, I will now ignore members which I find also problematic.

    1. Click on Alerts(to the right of Inbox.
    This opens the Alert box.
    2. Click on Alert Preferences(lower right of the Alert box). This opens up the Alert Preferences box.
    3. Uncheck any alerts you do not want to get (there are 27-29 alert check boxes).

I made the changes to my posting receivement so I need not get to the kind of mess last night ( night here) again. We can disagree with members but anyone hunting you is not anymore fun. Next step is ignore. I can also throw away quote noticement as well as I do not need to answer to the same questions again and again. We can disagree and that´s that.
I have noticed hunting my scalp seems like a priced item by some members. I can start from post no 1 with a new name to end the chase.Being here for 20 years seems not to bring any honour in many people´s eyes. I do not need that but continuous attacking and blaming me for that is starting to get hard and wanting me out seems to be the main goal. I cannot see any other reason to this "witch hunt".

My friend, I am just trying to help you out.

I am not hunting for your scalp, continuously attacking you, blaming your, or wanting you out, or carrying out a "witch hunt" against you.

I'm on Takao's side. I certainly respect what you have to say. Agreement or opposition is the lifeblood of this forum. No one is attacking or hunting you. I try to read your posts to learn about the Winter War and other information about the Eastern Front. Stay well my friend.

I am sorry. I feel like my heart is cut away by not being here. Even though I felt really bad for some stupid comments that seemed continuos I would like to be back. I hope you all can forgive me for my stupidity for my absolutely mad excuses and comments. Yours truly.

Hello Kai, we have all said and done stupid things this year. It’s been a hell of a stressful year. Especially it you or someone you know is dealing with health issues.

I’ve been here off and on for about 10 years, but we have not spoken too much that I can remember. However, I will join the others in saying I enjoy your posts on the Eastern Front and hope you stay around. This board has lost some great members over the years. I miss Skipper and Martin as well, and really still miss good ol Clint, rest his soul.

Stay around my friend, we appreciate you, and have a Happy New Year!

    Kai,
Absolutely no reason to apologize my friend. We all go through things in life and I admire your tenacity.
To be able to sit down and talk would be much better than reading words on a computer screen but the ability to say " I know a guy in Finland or Australia and even Scotland! " gives us a unique opportunity.

Be Well and just try to upset us! Ya won't be able to Buddy.

We all have low moments when it seems all is against us, it is family and friends who get us thru it, your friends are here.

Don't worry about apologizing Kai-Petri, I'll gladly welcome you back with open arms, if you need to take a break then do so.
Remember we are all human and make mistakes.
I agree, just try to do it...

    Kai,
You're one of the reasons I first hovered on this place. Finnish WW2 perspectives not exactly being common in the English-speaking world.
The Internerd waxes & wanes, but forever remains 'only the internet'.
Never take it too seriously, mate. Certain you'll always be welcome here.

Now show people some of that remarkable militaria collection... Just to make them feel slightly inadequate. :D

    Thank You Guys!

Muh appreciated! Love how this site has grown since "we" started some 20 years ago. Must admit the site inspired me to read so many books of ww2 that I would not have believed. And the site taught me alot as well.

I love Tomcat but it seems I might end dead with my plane.. There is a site for jokes and asking for a great Tomcat view is not that. Go for other threads, ok?

You will be sorry for losing Skipper, Martin ,Friedrich and me. We held the site alive in the beginning. And funny.

    Kai, resp
Kai, respectfully, what are you expecting Otto to respond with? Over time forums lose members and gain members. Some good WW2F members have left for various reasons (Clint, Martin, and urqh come to mind), but other good members have joined. Time moves on and things change. There's not much most people can do about that.

I spend less and less time here than I did before but that doesn't mean it's a failure of the forum -- interests change, more important things arise, etc.

Kai, I know I replied earlier but reading over a few posts I realized something; We all go through things we shouldn't but it's the way we deal with those things that matters. You're doing great don't worry. :D Look, I've been married for over 46 years now and if anyone knows anything about mood swings I think I might rank in the upper 5 percent. o_O

You have a lot on your plate right now so the main thing is to kick ass and keep posting.

    Thanx Biak,
Truly beautiful from you. I have fought the Russian non-ww2 believers etc over the years but still asking a simple nice photo today and all you get is ****. The top10 has vanished. Interestingly enough we are all Europeans. And we made this site stay alive. But anyway thank you!
