This is a member of my family, but I need help finding where is this uniform from. Can someone help me with this? I think he fought in first war, but not sure. [sharedmedia=core:attachments:22446]
The answer would be on the buckle , buttons and cap insignia markings. Would it be possible to scan those details at 600dp?
Boy, this is really difficult. The more I look at the cap insignia the more confused I become. I did a google search of WW1 British cap badges, and I saw any number of possibilites. Check fro yourself and see if any of them match the photo you have. https://www.google.com/search?q=ww1+british+cap+badges&rls=%7Bmoz:distributionID%7D:%7Bmoz:locale%7D:%7Bmozfficial%7D&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=iWNJVaX4HPT_sASgmYHQBQ&ved=0CCsQ7Ak&biw=1366&bih=610#imgrc=JGJIGJh1pAxRAM%253A%3BxwPCuGDxNPNQuM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fdandycollectibles.com%252Fwp-content%252Fuploads%252F2011%252F09%252FRIMG2935.JPG%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fdandycollectibles.com%252Fshop%252Fww1-british-army-norfolk-yeomanry-brass-hat-cap-badge%252F%3B465%3B700
Dont know. Streit, or something like this. Could be Polish, Austrian, even German. By the uniform its ww1. Edit: Found this, KING'S ROYAL RIFLE CORPS, but the insignia in the cap is lower than my pic, the poket is different too:
Definitely British, circa WW1. I can't make out the badge for a positive ID but looks like a Light Infantry type unit (Durham Light Infantry, Somerset Light Infantry, Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry et all) due to the bottom part curving like the gunpowder horn or what ever it's called. KRRC is a good call to above.
You are talking about my pic in the first post? I google Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and found these badages, but not sure yet:
SORRY TO TAG ONTO AN OLD POST Hi, this picture is from my grandad but I don’t know what emblem he has on his hat. He was Norwegian and then moved to the USA and passed away in 1968
That may be a company device. But given the scale of the war it could be Brazilian. You have quite a hunt ahead of you.
