Great going Kai!!!!!!! I had not also been aware that the Germans had used gliders in that operation to capture Tito. I knew a Waffen SS Para/Frainch Forign Legionnaire who was on that operation. His initials are: H.J.S. he was an Obsturmfuhrer and leader of a unit of "Partisanjagers" in Yugoslavia during the latter half of the war, before then--he served on the Eastern Front. I was going to do an interview with him back in 1999(I was THE only person he was going to do one with because I was an honorary member of the Frainch Forign Legions all German Battalion Indochina War; Nr. 505.) but sadly, he passed away later in 1999 and I only had (don't know if I still do) but I had sketchy notes on what we were going to talk about. How I met this vet: I was good friends with U 505's Hans Goebeler--who was the man who Pulled-the-plug on U 505 just before its capture--and he was the last man off the Uboat--even though the jerks at sharkhunters doesnt think so. Anyway: As I was friends with Hans, during our talks via--long distance telephone calls: eventually he mentioned that his best friend was in the Waffen SS Paras and wanted to know if I wanted to meet him? I told him: "Do Apples grow on trees? Are there clouds in the sky? ((To which he laughed and said)) that I will be getting a call from him soon as Hans had already told his friend about me. Boy--was I ever excited!
