Can anyone provide me with addresses at which I could contact Major Richard Winters or any former member of Easy Company, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne??? I would be most grateful for any help...
Panzer, Major Winters address seems to be a well kept secret, although I feel that if you know where in Penn. the man lives you just put his name and hometown on the envelope and the US Postal Service will know where to deliver. But I feel you might have more success writing to Mark Bando, who is more or less a 101st Airborne Historian. Visit his website at http://www.101airborneww2.com/bandofbrothers.html and drop him an e-mail. Here are some more 506 PIR links: http://currahee.hispeed.com/links.htm Make sure you contact the 101st Airborne Div. Association!!! (link on page above). Years back, before 506 became public knowledge/property, I corresponded with a vet who was with E/506 for a while and was transferred to the regiment's mortar platoon after having a chat with Winters. At the time it didn't mean to me what it means to me now, when you look at it in a historic/public knowledge kinda way. Back then the c/o of E/506 was the same to me as the CO of A/16 Infantry reg. whoever he might have been. Succes Panzer! I have met quite a few 101 vets and they are quite a bunch...
Panzerknacker, Did you get a reply from Dennis(P-61) about Richard Winters address?I mailed him to about his but haven't got a reply. Paul
Paul, Yes I did, however his reply was that he had lost the address and had to dig around for it. I will give it another week and then send him a reminder email...
