This was also found among the dump site stuff, any idea what it is or used for? The place I been finding the items appears to be an old dump site and there used to be an old fort from 1812 nearby and was also a POW camp during WW2, but there are items more suited to WW1 as well.

the coin is 1943 Silver US half dollar, also found a medal I cant fully identify, is a King George the 5th and Queen Mary on the back is a crown on a pillow but nothing else visible (everything has been underwater for ages) King George 5th is facing left with Mary slightly showing behind him. And also found a silver Canadian Quarter.

View attachment 17550 dump site revealed while water unusually low, Lake Ontario. There are a mix of items some are WW1 some may be war of 1812. There was a POW camp for WW2 located near the site.

I have also found Horseshoes (about 30-40) and 1 bridle bit. One horseshoe has a very long somewhat large bullet stuck in the sediment on it, another has old bone.

Interesting to find those in the "new world" . You would't expect to find so many relics together there. Good finds.

sorry about all the posts, I have found so many things it blows my mind. Especially after thinking I was picking up a weird rock and turned it over and was a grenade minus the pin and handle lol. Bomb unit is going to blow it up. Anyway, I was shocked when the Fort near where stuff was found had no interest in anything found, even though there had been a POW camp there and was training area WW1 and 2 and some of the items may be even older. The Fort was active from 1500's or 1600's - 1964, various wars and military uses. It just seemed a shame and waste to leave these things laying on the shore and Lake edge rotting.
