Miss C. McGovern, George Medal for devotion to duty when a heavy bomb hit the Royal Chest Hospital, London, while she was acting for the matron. Badly cut and injured by falling debris. Miss McGovern, altogether oblivious to her own wounds, continued to help in the removal of injured patients and staff, then, supported by a police constable, she went through the ruined building to make certain that nobody had been left behind.
