Museum helps find information on over 100,000 World War II participants

ST. PETERSBURG. Dec 8 (Interfax) - The administration of the Russian Defense Ministry's military and medical museum has provided the governments of Germany, France, Poland, Japan, China and some other countries with information on over 100,000 World War II soldiers these countries regarded as missing.

"The museum's archives store more than 60 million documents, which provide the only source for many war participants to receive benefits. Over eight million letters and inquiries from participants in twentieth- century wars have been processed over the 55 years since the archive was opened," museum director Anatoly Budko told Interfax.

Budko said that the archive holds medical documents for foreigners of 44 nationalities.
