    Hi Guys

Added these to the collection...I wish I could get close enough to see which variant they are wearing.

    Thanks, fischer

Hi Fischer, nice shots. I have a few in that area you might be interested in seeing. Also, you might be able to see what variants they are as at least two photos I have showing them in wear show pretty good details.

Cheers on those nice photos though.

Very nice pic Mate...I really like that one.

Great shot of the IAB and the shoulder board chained stitched "W" cyphers are awesome.

This guy was in the Westland 10 Regiment of the 5th SS Wiking.

Awesome Pic...should you ever decide, think of me...:D

    Best Regards, fischer

I also just noticed he has customized his tunic to resemble an early M-36 with the bottle green collar.

His tunic is a later M-42 version. Notice how the pleats are missing from the pocket fronts. The pocket flaps are scalloped at the edge showing it's a M-42 and not the later M-43.

In my studies I have found this to be a popular thing to add the Dark Green collar to a later version tunic. The guys were looking for IMO that Early War / Veteran look.

Some even added a strip of material down the front of the pockets to simulate the pleat. The lower pockets were a type of balloon pocket and they also removed the side expansion material and sewn these down to lay flat

Here is a pic of some NCO with modified tunics...Most of these style upgrades I mention are in this pic.

Again great pic John, one I like ever better now.

    Best Regards, fischer

    Hi John, Fischer,
John, I am impressed and great Westland photo. I bet this one set you back a few rolls of Pennies ;-))

Fischer, thanks for the pic and lesson as well. I lack severely-any great W-SS uniform knowledge.

Thanks lads. You have definately brought a smile to my face.:D
I cannot believe the amount of knowledge you have fischer mate. Absolutely outstanding. I am extremely impressed. Like Carl I just dont have that full knowledge. The pic is on LEONAR paper. The reason for the smile on my face, bought it through a friend for ...................................... £25 about three years ago. And yes, Fischer mate, if I sell it, you can have it.

    best wishes John ;)

Hi John, you, Stewy and Fischer are better than I am at awards. Shoulderboards and Collartabs might be a slightly different matter? ;-))
