Hello, My name is BAR Man, and I have been a WW2 researcher for about the past four years or so. I like to listen to stories of my family when they were in the war. My Great Grandfather and my Great Great Uncle both were in the war on the U.S. side. Grandpa Lawrence was in the 79th Infantry Division, 314th Regiment, Company K. As for Uncle Roy, I don't know any specifics for him at this time, but feel free to converse with me and show me the ropes, for I am a noobie.
Hi BAR Man, I saw your post. My father was a platoon leader in the 79th, 314th, K Company from 8 Jul 1944 until he was wounded on 21 Sep 1945. Here's a photo of his platoon taken near Paris in Aug 1945.
