    "The Pribor-3B Carbine was a three barreled(Meroka) rifle and was the Soviet rival to the U.S. Project SALVO rifle programme. It was a bullpup rifle and took the 7.62x39 round as used in the AK47/AKM Assault Rifles.

    The point of the Pribor-3B was the same as Project SALVO, To produce a 'Meroka' assault rifle since it will have more chance of hitting the target and a slightly higher rate of fire, It is not known yet if this weapon fired in Semi/Full automatic fire."

    Why "Meroka"? That's the name of the current Spanish naval 20mm CIWS which has multiple barrels, but that came long after this rifle. And the mechanism is entirely different, as it is power-driven.
