    Hello all:

I am a production assistant in New York and our company is producing a cable network program about the Rise and the Fall of the Third Reich. As there are not many untold stories of this topic or era, we have tried to find unique form of story telling.

Our approach to this well-worn topic is to tell the story of the Nazi Party's rise and fall through the eyes of regular citizens of Germany and the occupied nations, whether they supported the Nazis, opposed or resisted them, or were ambivalent. Our intent is to present a portrait of the Nazis' spread through Europe as it happened, and as viewed by the people who lived it.

We hope with this post to solicit from visitors to this website any historical materials from Germany, c. 1920s to roughly 1945 in the form of first person accounts (diaries, photos, letters or home movies) that we might include in our production. If you have any contributions that you would like to offer or license please feel free to reply to this initial post with your contact information and we will respond as swiftly as possible. Thank you in advance for your help and consideration and we look forward to hearing from you!

    Best,

    New Animal Productions

For an American view you have William Shirer's work as a resident reporter.

That's not much but that's what I have to say for now...
