    In view of my background, I suppose, my favorite WWII genre is for films with ships and boats. I have compiled a list with such films and series I know about, without the silly comedies, but with a couple of documentaries.

    Quite an impressive list. Add "Sailor of the King, 1953" with Jeffrey Hunter and Michael Rennie. A some what improbable but quite watchable film.

    I believe the full length movie is on YOUTube in a slightly grainy version.

    HMS Manxman, a mine layering cruiser plays the German cruiser in the film and a Dido class cruiser plays the two English cruisers. The ships served in WW2 and there are some good close up action shots

    Thanks your the comments fellows. Yes, 'Weekend at Dunkirk' was forgotten, and not only that one - I've noted I have forgotten quite a few more.

    'Sailor of the King' is already included but listed under its original name 'Single-Handed' as item 96 on the list above. This film is a British production and in Britain it was shown as 'Single-Handed' whereas in the US they changed the name to 'Sailor of the King'. This has happened to many films and in those cases I always use the original name first - "Single-Handed a.k.a. Sailor of The King (1953) (UK) [6.7] WWII Drama".

    For 'Les Dossiers de L'écran' I will make a note that it is being part of a TV show. However, as I can't find any feature film about the British attacks on the French Mediterranean fleet, and given that it was such a significant event during the second world war, I opt to keep it.
