Smiley Central -- 10,000 Free smiley emoticons for email and instant messages! I notice that unlike some other sites, we do not have Smileys on this site. Is this a good or bad idea. I will reserve my thoughts.
The admin does have them. Use the go advanced button for your posts and click more under the smiley logo (right screen).
Huh? Yes we do. If you click on Reply or Reply With Quote, Smilies are in the menu bar. From there, if you click on Advanced (bottom right) and look to the immediate right, there is a short list of smilies with the word [More] below it. Click on More and you can find a butt-load of smilies. The direct link is here: Smilie List - World War II Forums We also have a web gallery of pics and Gifs WWIIF Web Gallery - v0.7 e.g. ©
Use our smilies as often as you want. Here are one of the lesser common ones we have. Smilie List - World War II Forums
My mistake - we do have them but thank God that most people on this site never use them - include me in that! I just think it never adds anything to the debate other than rudeness and lack of appreciation of other's point of view. Anyway I see that ours are a lot less offensive than some I have seen.

Ok - I can now predict that every one of my posts will now attract the nutters and their smiley bullets.
Personally, I like the heart that goes along with clicking "Like". It just makes you all seem so much kinder and gentler somehow.....
I was trying to be encouraging, positive. Okay, the little heart always makes me laugh. It's a WW2 forum.
If used aggressively, smileys do drag things down. But they can be warm and fuzzy as well. Me, I spend most of the day looking at images, teasing information out of them. So smileys are part of my system of communicating. I've collect the odd few. (Be advised that page will take a while to load, overnight in some cases.)
