I think, because of their condition, the pliers are unissued. This is my U.S. canteen, cover and mess tin Mess tin markings Canteen markings-note the date I can't make out the manufacturer on the cover, but it's dated 1943 The detail on the 'popper' studs
Back to my German items. I think I may have shown these before, but what the heck, here goes... This is my collection of Third Reich 'tinnies'. These would be sold at public rallies to fund the Nazi party.
I'm looking for one of these as well, but this one is in great condition too! Must be un-issued as well?
It has been issued, there are wear marks on the cover and the condition of the mess tin and canteen is evident of use. I bought mine at a militaria fair a few years ago, if you are looking for one for your own collection try the link below U.S. Field Gear - International Military Antiques
Nice canteen, messkit and tinny collections Gents!. If i'd known you guys a few years ago, I could havegiven to you all the tinnies I had w/ the exception of two that I kept. One is a Wehrmacht Day tag - which shows the bust of a Soldier and was painted gold. This tinnie was made out of aluminum. The other one I have is made of bronze, and has a raised relief of Hitler (center) and an SS man (right) SA man (left) The only reasons I kept these are because of the quilty of them and that i've never seen other examples for sale.
I also have a few new items to show... Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse, with ribbon. Luftwaffe Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger, Buntmetall vergoldet. Deutsches Schutzwall Ehrenzeichen, with ribbon, and bag. Luftwaffe Erkennungsmarke 1. Luftwaffe Erkennungsmarke 2.
Hi 272VGD, your collection makes the mouth water. Great stuff and thanks for showing! Also, I did not notice but, has your EK2 a maker-mark on the ring?
