A couple weeks ago I was preforming my weekly devotions at the local Chapel of St. Wal-Mart and in the Bargin bin I found a copy of this film. I had kinda wanted to see it on the big screen but was put off by the tepid reviews so I passed. For $8.00 bucks, and since I never got around to seeing it, I decided to pick up a Blu-Ray disk for some day when the idiot box was particularly lame. That day came last night. Adapted from a Graphic Novel (comic book with pretension's) or a very bad LSD trip, it certainly is one of a kind. Think 'One Flew over a CuKoo's Nest' meets "Enter the Dragon", meets 'All Quiet on the Western front', meets 'Hellboy', meets 'Thirty Seconds over Tokyo', meets 'The Matrix', meets 'Lord of the Rings'. meets 'I Robot', meets 'Batman Begins', meets softcore Japanese Anime porn. Visually arresting to be sure, and not as confused as it sounds, it does have a fairly clever twist at its end. Alot of violence but no nudity or gore, still I wonder how this will ever be broadcast on non-cable television as it is.
It took nearly two weeks before your TV offerings were lame??? What's your cable company, I would have watched it the day I bought it
Could have put it in sooner, but I was 'saving' it for a particularly bad day. CAC, you need video's, I thought you had topless beaches?
I thought it was a great movie! Weird and chaotic, it took me a while to realize exactly how far into the girl's mind we were going....which explained the weird/chaotic part. Otherwise, really good. Now...about those topless beaches...
I personally thought they just didn“t quite catch what they wanted to do with it, so close and yet far away, not a bad movie but the "hook" was not as sharp as it should have been. Got a copy in my shelf.
Pretty much every where is topless here...even the backpackers over the road (which i can look down on from the 4th floor...) We even have TOTs in most pubs...that T*ts out Tuesdays...free p*ss for anyone getting them out. Its the NUDE beaches you are referring to...amazing how many people get lost and find themselves around there...hmmm...
Sorry old mate....TOT, (Tits Out Tuesday), has been banned ever since the antics at the 'Discovery' Nightclub forced it's closure... And yes....sunglasses are a compulsory accessory when visiting the 'free' beach area.....not that one does..... ........not that theres anything WRONG with that!
Banned? Hehe...try down the track...Palmo even...Monsoons want to bring it back to town as well...probably will happen from my mail...I think Squires still has free strippers on thursdays and fridays too...
