    Dear Friends,

I'm searching the number of the regiment/battalion of the 17th airborne division which used Grévillers airfield - called also Achiet airfield - located some kilometers from Bapaume (Pas-de-Calais, Northern France), known to Advances Landing Ground B-54.

The airfield was used as a marshalling yard for Varsity operation and uses by the 313th Troop Carrier Group. The group began its move to Achiet at the end of February 1945.

The famous photographer Robert Capa took some photos of look liked indian headed paratroopers located at Arras (Pas-de-Calais, Northern France), but I'm sure that they were taken at Achiet airfield.

I hope you could help me (with references of books, archives, veterans stories)

    Thanks:joecool:

The 513th Parachute Infantry Regiment is the unit in question.
