Can anyone recommend a DVD that tells the story of the war in vietnam, not looking for a highly detailed box set of 36 discs, just a good fact based dvd that tells the story withough going into blow by blow accounts.

If memory serves, I think the History Channel, and/or PBS did a battle by battle breakdown DVD. Something that starts and ends in 90 minutes? Not out there.

There are some good Vietnam movies out there (I highly recommend Flight of the Intruder), but patriotism, completely lacking in Hollywood in nearly 40 years, no one has bothered to tell the whole story of Vietnam.

I enjoyed HBO's Dear America: Letters Home from Viet Nam. It came out around 1987 but if you can find it, it is really good.

"Vietnam, a Television History" which is related to the book "Vietnam, a History" by Stanley Karnow would be my recommendation, however it's a four disc set and the book's sizeable too. Deffo worth the effort though.
