What war film affected you the most emotionally (was it heroic , did it have a tragic end , was it patriotic , was it the musical scores in the film film , etc) :D  Personally the film that affected me the most was the end of Gallipoli were Dunne is too late to stop the third wave in the trench attack , and his friend is killed at the very end of the film. and there was the music from hamburger Hill. I Don't mean too sound like a panzie

I agree, the end of Gallipoli was very moving.

I think the soundtrack to Platoon was ideal for the film.

The beast ( russians in Afganistan)
The saviour ( Dennis Quaide as american mercenary in Bosnian Serb forces) - for this one one needs a strong stomac. It portrays all three sides in that war as equal buchers.
