At the outbreak of World War I, Joey, young Albert’s beloved horse, is sold to the cavalry and shipped to France. He’s soon caught up in enemy fire; death, disease and fate take him on an extraordinary odyssey, serving on both sides before finding himself alone in No man’s land. But Albert cannot forget Joey and, still not old enough to enlist, he embarks on a dangerous mission to find him and bring him home.
War Horse – Spielberg’s war movie has begun shooting. – It's like real life. There's just enough to make it interesting.

Hes a good Director, but certainly NOT the best ;-)) here are a few that could direct him to the floor with ease: John Ford, Lewis Milestone, Howard Hawks, John Frankenheimer, Billy Wilder, James Cameron and Otto Preminger for that matter.

They gave us classics like: The Searchers, Stagecoach, Fort Apache, They Were Expendable, Halls of Montezuma, All Quiet On the Western Front, Rio bravo, Rio Lobo, The Train, Stalag 17, Titanic, In Harms Way-to name just a few.

WW1 movie with a horse that's interesting to know how a horse survives trench warfare.

Cameron is a great technical directer and does wonders visually, but his storys are rather lame.

The stage show has been a sellout success wherever it's performed. 'Joey' is a superb mechanical wonder. I've yet to see it.

Spielberg’s War Horse vs. Spielberg’s Tintin - Filmonic

Steven Spielberg will now have two movies released within a week of each other thanks to a bit of re-scheduling by DreamWorks. According to Deadline the studio has pushed War Horse back from August 2011 to a more Oscar friendly December 2011. Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn will also be released in December 2011, on the 23rd, which is 5 days before War Horse will hit screens.

Sounds like a Jack London The Call of the Wild plot, with a different setting and animal.
