I've been reading in the paper here and there that the El Presidente and current strongman of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte has been bad-mouthing the US of A. He also MF'd Obama too, but a lot of people have been doing that for some time now. But he's saying that he wants to get into bed with the Chicoms and Rooskies. What's up with that? I must have missed something I guess. I know that his human rights efforts have come under question when he was the strong man in Mindanao, but if that's what got his panties all twisted up, then he must be messed up in the head a bit too. Do the people of the Philippines side with him and hate us too? Man, I'm glad I broke up with my Philippine girlfriend who wanted to get married and retire to the PI.
I think its in response to the USs criticism of how Duterte is treating the drug war...lethally. He has publically given Obama and the US the bird, and said twice f..k you! The Phillipines and in particular Malaysia have given Australia a headache in the past...Malaysia has been most vocal over the years... I remember not long ago, a Malaysian female gymnast was castigated by the clergy (Muslim) for her outfit and how you could see the outline of her "aurat" (pubic bulge) - The Minister for Sport and Recreation in Malaysia, a female, had the balls to call these clergy "Perverts" haha...priceless. 9 Australians stripped down to their budgie smugglers (Speedos) over the weekend at the Grand Prix held there and were jailed for four days...the magistrate let them go (im sure after a hefty pay off) - These nine were private school ninnies who could afford any price. One was a Defence advisor (The PM is asking for answers from his boss).
Nothing personnal, he also insulted the E.U, the U.K., France etc.. He has an ego trip and insulting prominent politicians will get him in the media. He makes me think of a kid that needs education.
Ok, that's understandable, he's a raging a-hole. But what does the Philippine people think of his views?
Very simple : he is fed up with the arrogant lecturing from Obama who criticized his war against drugsdealers . And I think that he has the full support of the population .
My Filipina gf thinks Duterte is the best thing since rice...he is hugely popular there. She does not read news- other than fb feed...said she has a cousin (in Manila) whose husband was called out of his house and was shot. She also had a cousin who died from a mosquito bite.
Duterte is a classic example of what happens when you elect a vigilante as mayor and then president. Makes things really tough on the bad guys but not particularly nice for anyone else either. He seams very focused on his objectives and willing to take utilize whatever means he has available to achieve them. Rather thin skinned in regards to criticism as well.
He seemed to be doing a little back-peddling now. It seems that now he doesn't really want to completely sever ties with the US after all. Or so he says now. Just the joint military effort going on in Mindanao and other islands where they are having problems with the muslimoes.
China knows how to deal with that- problem...Duterte has focused his efforts on the druggies, not the zealots...Drugs and religion make for the perfect war zombie. Duterte should be backpedaling... Let's be honest, the Philippines are a second world country.
Duarte has a large following on the Philippines even including the boxer Pacquiao Below is a speech he gave in China. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z69gIsf5vlI - Video Tube for YouTube - iPhone/iPad Seems the Philippines is the fourth country in recent times to have pivoted towards China and Russia...
Manny is a great boxer, but he said some crappy things about the gays. He tried to run for some gov position, but unsure if he was elected... Would bet Dutertes is having second thoughts after listening to what the Chinese had to say...The Chinese are Duterte on steroids... After seeing his reflection X 10, he is probably regretting his words/actions...The Chinese would never allow his disrespect that he paid the US.
what do i think? it shows voter stupidity (which is seen in other RECENT presidential elections.) of the 54 million registered filipino voters, around 50% are below 30 years of age and can't relate to the time of the marcos dictatorship. of those below-30 people, less than 25% graduated from preparatory school and far less reached tertiary. and regardless of their educational attainment, many are poorly informed or have poor access to information, whether hard or electronic.
oh, and fvck the chinese. here in the philippines, those arrogant, snotty "chinoy" businessmen arent getting kidnapped for ransom often enough.
A balut - one of those gross chicken eggs they always used to try and sell us in Olongapo. Nasty looking birds. I think he sat on one and cannot dislodge, er.
The sale of the rifles was already being blocked by the State Department, because of his vigilante justice campaign against drug dealers.
What's up his bum? The isis maybe. http://globalnation.inquirer.net/142589/duterte-tells-army-prepare-for-terror-isis-problem
