I'm new to the forum and have been looking around and must admit to finding it extremely interesting yet quite daunting in navigating.

I am interested mostly in where my father (now aged 90) was involved which is in Burma and India and Ceylon where he was in the Royal Navy (Volunteer Reserve) attached from South Africa. He was in the 49th M.L. Flotilla on H.M.M.L. 380. I have a Chirstams card showing this boat which he sent to his sister in 1943. I've attached it for information.

I've looked at the theatres of war section but can't find where this would fall. It's not the Middle East nor is it Pacific. Can someone point me in the correct direction?

I would like to also post some of his memories of the time and have found where to do this. I'll be doing it on his behalf because he is unable to use a computer but still has a pretty good recall of events.

His name is Henry Moss but always known as Sonny.

I suggest you scroll down the opening page, to the "Theaters" you mentioned, and open the section devoted to the War in the Pacific. In there will be found a sub-section on the CBI; i.e. the China, Burma, India theater.

    Good luck in your quest.

Hello Series, and welcome to the Forum. The Pacific Theater section, once clicking on it will give you a general list of threads, as well as six additional sub-sections including the China-Burma-India (CBI) theater. Hope this helps, and I hope you find everything your looking for. If not, feel free to ask.

Not a problem, welcome to this great place. Hope you have good luck in your searches and such.

BTW, our sister/brother (?) forum called World War 2 Talk is more UK oriented than this one, they may be able to help you even more.
