Hello Just joined up, so it's introduction time. My name is Geoff Perkins, from London, England - I've just turned 50 and I guess I've been interested in World War II ever since I was given an Airfix Spitfire to build way back in the mists of time. I had always thought that my family were lucky enough not to have lost anyone in the war, but a couple of years ago I started researching my family tree and now I have a long list of distant cousins who weren't so fortunate, and as far as I can, I would like to find out more of their histories and fates, where possible. The subjects of any threads are therefore likely to cover any period from '39 to '45, all theatres of operations, and all of the forces, and will probably contain a plea for help. My first thread concerns a Handley-Page Halifax, serial MZ304, which crashed off the coast of Scotland in 1944, and will shortly be found in the Air War in Western Europe section - any help will be very gratefully received. Regards geoffp
Greetings, Geoff! Welcome! I cut my teeth on Airfix models back in the 60s. Must have built at least 20-30 of them to hang from my bedroom ceiling. Great kits they were. Can still buy some on eBay, I think. I live in Taiwan. If you have any questions about events in the West Pacific, I might be able to lend a hand.
