Video of my father talking about Okinawa

Hi there. I'm trying something new with Dad. When I was working on writing our book and then editing it with my publisher, I realized that it would be impossible to include every single story he had to tell. So, I decided to document them anyway. Of course, I have them in writing, but I was thinking that perhaps people might enjoy seeing him answer some questions. So, I video taped him answering a question and just let him talk. He is a very detailed person, so I hope people will appreciate that.

My first question is about what I've always called, The Candy Bar Story. When I was little, he only told the fun part. I had no idea where it took place or anything about the details surrounding it. This has all come with time. Anyway - here is the link to it. And as is said at the end of the video, if you've read the book and want to ask a question that isn't answered there, please do contact me. Oh, and this particular video is part one of two. Great idea, Karen. I know there are a few others like me who like to hear the Vets tell their stories in their own voice. Thank you for posting this. Hopefully there will be more to come! Your book is also on my "to get" list.

There is a part two up now. I have even better news too! I was contacted by a local university. Three advanced film students are making a short documentary about the book and my father's WWII experiences. They have started filming and I think it will really be good. When it is done, it will be posted online. So, I'll let you know where you can watch it when it is available - this spring sometime. And believe me, they do a MUCH better job of filming. Mine is pretty horrid in comparison. ~Karen

Nice bit. I think remember you posting previously saying something was going to happen regarding.Congrats.. Like how yer Pa is all comfortable, socks off. That is exactly how my father would do it...
The manufacturer (Cardinet Candy Company) made the "U-No" bar from the 1920's, purchased in '78 by Annabelle Candy. ...Has anyone any memories of the Baffle Bar, or a picture to post?
