Was just going thru some of my fathers old army stuff and found out a lot. was reading a post from a grandson of Horace Carter and he mentioned my father in one of his posts. would like to hook up with him as I also have many pictures that were taken during the same time. I also have many pictures and have no idea who or where they were taken. I also have a picture of a group taken by the Ft Lewis sentinel of an artillery group.

Welcome to the Forum, Scott. I believe the member you refer to goes by the user name 980th. You can go to his profile page (the link I provided) and click on "Send me a message". You can also find one of his posts, move your cursor over his user name and click where it says, "Send message".

Some of our most popular threads are photo threads. We have a lot of clever folks here. Maybe some can provide some information about them.

Also, it would be our privilege if you would choose to honor your father in the "Those Who Served" section of the Forum.

I'll echo Tommy in my welcome to you, Scott. Post your pictures, I'm sure someone can help. Besides, we like pictures. I hope you can link up with 980th. The result could be another one of our amazing occurrences.

thanks i appreciate the help. the pictures that i have are very small and i will try to enlarge them before i post. my father never did talk about the war just that he had some friends out there. it is too bad that i did not get into this while mr carter was still alive. i am trying to find where she put the entire letter or where i can get a down load of the entire history.

Hello, my father also was in the 980th Battery A. Do you know what battery your father was in? Here's a group photo of Battery A 144th FA Reg. (Battery A 980th FA Bn) taken at Ft Lewis probably 1941 or 42. My father to the right of the guide on. I also have a lot of photos from Ft Lewis, Yakima, and the desert training before going to the ETO.
