You' ve done some beautiful work on this kit of the U.S.S. Missouri. I myself have never built a kit of a warship, although I have a friend who has mostly every ship kit produced in the Tamiya line. (And I can appreciate the effort required and the work involved in rendering fine detail in this scale.) Tamiya armour models, in 1/35th and 1/42nd scale are usually very well made. (There can be minor fit problems with some of their very early 1970s offerings, but as a general rule, at least when it comes to armour, they produce a quality product.) It's too bad that the kit was damaged due to a bout of bad weather.
right now im on the hunt for a WW2 cruiser my dad served on. USS Philadelphia (CL-41). a brooklyn class cruiser. which included USS Brooklyn (CL-40) USS Philadelphia (CL-41) USS Savannah (CL-42) USS Nashville (CL-43) USS Phoenix (CL-46) USS Boise (CL-47) USS Honolulu (CL-48) probably gonna be like huntin' a fart in a whirlwind
Well, it will be the most expensive fart you have ever had! Yankee Model Works has a 1/350 scale USS Brooklyn class, but it is very pricey. Your probably looking at $200-$275. That being said, you get what you pay for. The model is a resin kit, with several metal parts, as well as many photo-etched pieces. While not exactly the same, here is the review for the St. Louis/Helena from ModelWarships. ModelWarships reveiw
I saw it. been hunting part of the afternoon. I found the Nashville on motion models. but these appear to be pre assembled. which means you need a loan. ill fart those off !!!
